SMH ... I don't even have any words after watching the video. I can't believe people can be THIS cruel as to take someone's life like that. This makes me feel ashamed of my race that we're still doing stuff like this.

As an older sister, a caregiver, a daughter and a sister ... this scares me. The fact that I have to worry about each one of them to the point where I'm calling them every 5 seconds to check and see if they're okay is ridiculous.

We have to do better. As a people. As a community. As a Nation.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just announced the nominees for the 2010 Induction and once again the hip-hop genre is represented. Veteran rapper LL Cool J made the cut this year, following in the footsteps of his fellow Queens, New York hip-hop pioneers Run-DMC. R&B group the Chantels, reggae vocalist Jimmy Cliff, pop diva Donna Summer and gospel singer Darlene Love were also announced as nominees. Ballots will be sent to more than 500 voters, who will select artists to be inducted at the 25th Annual Induction Ceremony on March 15, 2010 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. To be eligible for nomination into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an act must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.

Born James Todd Smith, LL was only 17 in 1985 when he recorded "Rock the Bells." A year earlier LL had made his debut on Def Jam, which was also the debut of the label itself. By the 1990s, LL was working in television and film and has proven that rappers can sustain a long-term career.

I just want to start out by saying I cannot STAND Oprah's blabbing ass. Not one bit. I do, however, adore Jay-Z. I really don't give a shit how everyone else feels about him. I feel he IS one of the greatest MCs of all time.
For anyone who missed it, you didn't really miss much. They agreed to disagree on the use of the N-word in Hip Hop music, Rocawear was thrown in there a few times, BP3 of course was discussed and none other than the (unspoken) dialogue of his marriage to Beyonce.

He tried to teach Oprah to rap ... that was funny and a little, dare I say, adorable.

I can't wait to see ho this one plays to the original, which happens to be one of my fave movies ever.
