Nise Monet on: School Uniforms
Okay, so me and my friend had this heated debate aabout whether or not schools should make students wear uniforms.
She said she had talked to her friend about how kids only go to school and socialize and not for learning. She thinks children wearing uniforms is a way for them to stop focusing so much on fashions and whatnot and concentrate more on their schoolwork. She wants her children to wear them when they go to school so she doesn't have to worry about buying the right things for them to wear or spending unnecessay money on clothes and shoes.
I can understand that completely.
My opinion?
Uniforms should only be worn at work. If they're not serving dinners or taking drive thru orders, I want my child to be able to express themselves completely in everything they do whether it's clothing or hair color. I want them to know that they do not have to conform because the world tells them they have to. I love the way children are liberated and they don't care about what could happen, they focus on the now and that, to me, is the way things should be. Yes, some kids get talked about and made fun of, but that doesn't change much from childhood to adult so why brainwash them and make them think that because they wear uniforms, no one will ever talk badly about them?
Get it together.
